LangLeap ("we", "us", or "our") operates the LangLeap mobile application, website (langleap.app), and browser extensions. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our services.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information: When you sign up, we collect your name, email address, and authentication credentials. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email, and profile photo from Google.

Content You Import: When you use the browser extension, we collect the content you choose to import, including video subtitles, article text, and associated metadata (titles, durations, channel names). This content is only captured when you explicitly click "Import."

Learning Data: We store your course progress, vocabulary reviews, and lesson history to power features like spaced repetition.

Device Information: We collect basic device information necessary for app functionality, such as device type and operating system version.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To provide and maintain the LangLeap service
• To create personalized language learning lessons from content you import
• To track your learning progress and power spaced repetition
• To authenticate your account and keep it secure
• To communicate with you about your account or service updates

3. Information We Do Not Collect

• We do not track your browsing history
• We do not monitor your web activity outside of explicit import actions
• We do not collect financial or payment information directly (payments are processed by third-party providers)
• We do not collect location data

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or transfer your personal information to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising. Your imported content and learning data are used solely to provide the LangLeap service to you.

5. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on secure servers. Authentication tokens are stored locally on your device using secure storage mechanisms (Keychain on iOS, Keystore on Android, browser storage APIs for extensions). We use HTTPS for all data transmission.

6. Browser Extension

The LangLeap browser extension:

• Only accesses page content when you click "Import"
• Stores your authentication token and preferences locally in browser storage
• Sends imported content to the LangLeap API over HTTPS
• Does not run in the background or monitor your browsing
• Does not inject ads or modify web pages

7. Your Rights

You can:

• Request access to your personal data
• Request deletion of your account and associated data
• Sign out of the extension at any time to remove locally stored credentials
• Uninstall the extension to remove all local data

8. Children's Privacy

LangLeap is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes through the app or by email. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
